Career & Technical Education

Career Technical Education (CTE) at PTAA

Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy (PTAA) is committed to providing students with comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that prepare them for a wide range of high-skill, high-demand careers. Our CTE Department offers five Career Pathway choices, allowing students to explore their interests and develop skills that are relevant to today's job market.

These pathway choices are flexible, and students can discuss changes with their counselors if they wish to adjust their future course selections. Changes are only accepted until the end of the 1st semester of junior year. Our goal is to guide students toward a successful and fulfilling career path.

Career Clusters

The Texas Education Agency has identified 16 career clusters, allowing students to explore a broad range of study areas. These clusters are flexible and designed to adapt as students acquire new knowledge and experiences.

Using a student's career interests and aptitude information, counselors work with students to develop a graduation plan in one of the following pathways:

Arts, Audio Visual Technology, and Communications - Graphic Design and Interactive Media Business, Marketing, and Finance - Business Management Education and Training - Teaching and Training Health Science - Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services Information Technology - Programming and Software Development

For more information on CTE pathways, refer to our CTE Guide.
